Amidst the aftermath of the decades Vietnam War, my family and I made a life-altering choice to seek refuge in America, a land foreign to us. With limited English skills and a profound yearning for a peaceful, purposeful, and fulfilling second chance, I embarked on a challenging journey filled with hope and uncertainty.
For over 10 years, I faced relentless challenges and hardships. Trapped in low-wage jobs, I felt stuck in an endless cycle. My first job required me to communicate over the phone, and I shed countless tears struggling to understand others. Climbing the corporate ladder was an uphill battle, with complex office politics and demanding projects. Life outside work was equally challenging as I acclimated to Western culture, vastly different from my upbringing in Vietnam. To say that American life was a complete 180-degree shift from my upbringing would be an understatement!
My family and I, having endured decades of war in Vietnam, were unprepared for the journey to the United States. We faced culture shock and profound hardships, struggling to understand American customs and way of life.
In the depths of despair and frustration from slow progress, a revelation struck me like a bolt of lightning. It became crystal clear that to realize my dreams of a rewarding career and a fulfilling life, I needed the wisdom and guidance of those who had already succeeded.
Fueled by determination, I sought guidance from successful mentors at Johnson & Johnson, NVIDIA, Lockheed Martin, and other industry leaders. Their unwavering belief in my abilities, coupled with steadfast support and expert guidance, propelled me forward at an astounding pace!
